My favorite holiday book growing up (and now, to be honest) was one that told about how children in different cultures celebrated Christmas. I’ve always been fascinated with different lands, traditions, architecture, and family life. One thing that captivated me then and has only been heightened since I’ve grown up is the texture, pattern and color of global and ethnic decor. Colors were rich, exotic, mysterious, and the designs told a mythical story of rich history. 9 times out of 10 I will still be drawn to items and patterns that reflect a worldly perspective.
