Color Forecast 2012

It’s that time of year again…time for Pantone, the global authority on color, to release it’s Color Forecast for the next year.  Driven by fashion, these colors are an indicator of the mood and outlook of consumers around the world.  After several years of muted blues, greens and greys, the verdict seems to be that bright is back!

“Consumers look to spring for renewed energy, optimism and the promise of a brighter day,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute^®. “They have learned how color can help them alter a mood and provide the vitality and enthusiasm that enables them to experiment with new looks and color combinations.”

Pantone offers an emotional narrative on the hues, describing colors as energetic or sensual, calming and refreshing.  Suggested pairings are offered, although most of these colors could be combined for interesting interiors.
