I’m looking for… A Red Matelassé!
The weather is getting colder and just as we transition our wardrobes from short sleeves and tanks to sweaters and jackets, we also adjust for the season by bringing additional layers to our bedding.
However, often it’s hard to find a ready-made matelassé in something other than a neutral, especially bold colors. There are many, options, available for a custom coverlet.
Here are a few of my picks for your winter bed:
1) Arborescent in Flame, by Robert Allen
This quilted matelassé features a large scale leaf and fern pattern. The hand is soft and the silky thread is a nice bonus!
Cotton / Polyester / Rayon
2) Wainright Collection Chevron Matelasse in Poppy, by Duralee
Chevron is here to stay, and this small monochromatic matelassé version of the popular zig-zag is sure to give a fresh pop to your bed!
Polyester / Polypropylene / Rayon
3) Sway in Red, by Lee Jofa
Made of 100% cotton, this classic pattern has a wonderfully soft hand and rich brick-red color!
Cotton
4) Voodoo in Crimson, by Vervain
Velvety with tons of texture, this matelassé give a rich sheen of silk, yet stays youthful with it’s bubble-like pattern.
Cotton / Silk / Acrylic
